We’re excited to share that our Designer DripEdge™ has been chosen for this year’s KBB Product Awards in the Functional Hardware category!
KBB – Kitchen & Bath Business – is the official publication of the NKBA and KBIS (National Kitchen & Bath Association and Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, respectively). Each fall, KBB names new Product Award winners prior to the following year’s KBIS trade show. In 2023, Designs of Distinction submitted one of our newest (and favorite) products to the judges – The Designer DripEdge™. The Designer DripEdge is this year’s winner in the Functional Hardware category.

Per KBB, “The KBB Product Awards honor manufacturers for superior products” that fulfill criteria such as: air quality, bath and kitchen accessories, bath storage and furniture, countertops, decorative hardware, functional and storage hardware, laundry products, shower components, smart innovations, and many more. KBB notes, “the judges have the final say on the category awards and will reserve the right to assign products to specific award categories at their discretion,” stating one winner will be named in each category that has sufficient entries.
When we submitted the Designer DripEdge to KBB’s Product Awards, we did not know what category the judges would assign this product. We’re pleased the DripEdge was placed in the Functional Hardware category, because that’s what we consider it, too – it’s a functional piece that also adds to the kitchen’s aesthetics; as KBB states, “functional and eye-catching.”
What is KBB?
Kitchen & Bath Business was the first trade magazine for the kitchen and bath industry, and is the official publication for the NKBA and KBIS.
Kitchen & Bath Business “was the first trade magazine for the kitchen and bath industry and is the Official KBIS publication.” The company goes on to say, “KBB covers articles on recent projects, before & after pieces and business columns for architects, custom builders, designers, remodelers and showroom dealers. We highlight the latest in kitchen and bath products, trends, technologies, news and design in eight annual issues.” KBB issues include “a Buyer’s Guide, which lists the industry’s leading suppliers and the products and services they offer.”
Additionally, KBB offers a variety of design award programs, stating “Kitchen and Bath Business honors the industry’s leading professionals in its Design Awards, Product Innovator Awards and Readers’ Choice Awards.” Types of awards KBB offers include:
- Design Awards: Accolades go to cutting-edge kitchen, bath and showroom design installations.
- Product Innovator Awards: Awarded to new and innovative kitchen and bath industry products from a panel of judges, who remain anonymous until the award is presented. Judges are industry experts, independent of direct affiliation with products and companies being evaluated.
- Readers’ Choice Awards: Readers vote their favorite products, brands, and professionals in the Kitchen and Bath Industry based on local availability, support from supplier/manufacturer, and price point for their typical client budget.
KBB, founded in 1955, provides business’ with “innovative and actionable ideas,” inspiration, and exclusive insight into KBIS before any other platform.
